I'm not going to be able to send pictures this week...sorry. I took pictures this week (among which is a picture of me standing next to a little baby snake on the side of the road) but the computer won't recognize my camera for what ever reason and you know how I am with computers...so I couldn't figure it out.
This week has been a really spiritually uplifting week. My companion and I have been perfecting our planning skills. We´re still not perfect but we´re definitely getting there. We've been working harder to recognize the spirit in our planning. In the most recent weekly planning session we were really guided. It was neat when the same detail or person would come to our mind at the same time.
The Lord has been blessing us with the things that we need. We have been struggling with the food schedule. We recently stopped having lunches with Hermana S. who was giving us lunch every day and we still don't have all of our lunches figured out with who will be able to help us what days. On Wednesday we didn't have lunch again. In the morning I prayed to God that we would be able to have the food that we needed during the day.
So my companion and I were in divisions on Tuesday. So in the morning I went with the sister leader to the terminal to find my companion. We decided to walk back to the house to eat cereal in the house and on the way we came across some caballeros con caballos....not really sure if I spelled that right...so we came across some horses and their owners. It just so happens that horses are my companion's favorite animal. So we talked to the owners, invited them to church, gave them some pamphlets, and pet their horses, took some pictures of course, and then kept walking. (Just so you know it's not really SUPER common to see horses here. Every so often we´ll see a truck with horses but that's it).
So as we kept walking we saw a scattered group of people. A friendly man offered my companion some meat that he was grilling. So he gave one to me too. It was pretty good. I felt kind of unsure about the situation because it was a random guy on the side of the road giving us some meat and I had no idea what kind of meat it was that they were giving me, but it tasted alright. So we chatted with him and his family. It turned out that his family was celebrating the birthday of his brother. He told us that they were having a family reunion and that people come from all over. I was thinking in my head okay...
So I have five minutes left to type so I'm going to try to print and then maybe I´ll be able to finish that story..haha
Okay, so it turned out that this family reunion which I thought was a little family reunion was a huge yearly festival that happens here in Doleguita where they bring horses from all over Panama and ride them in the streets. It was really really crazy.
The family that gives us dinner invited us out to eat with them so we were in the town trying to find them when a ton of horses road by.
So I definitely wanted to write more about the spiritual experiences that I have but I have no time.
The church is true!!
